President's Message
I am honored to serve at PFMA’s 2011 president.
I have been a member for 15 years and in addition to serving as president in 2001 I have served on various committees.
PFMA has given me the opportunity to work with some of the best managers and engineers in our industry. My career has benefited
by my participation in and the relationships formed through PFMA.
The Association provides excellent training opportunities as well as a forum to share ideas and practices with professionals
throughout the Commonwealth.
The board of directors is committed to keeping PFMA the leader in providing training and support to Commonwealth Facilities.
The directors should be commended for their vision, they have embraced new concepts, implemented new ideas and found creative
solutions to the many challenges the association has faced over the years.
This year will possibly be the most challenging ever given the state of the national economy and our States budget deficiencies.
The new Governor will be faced with many challenges and will need to look at cost containment, streamlining operations,
regulatory reform and an ageing infrastructure to name a few. PFMA will play an important role in helping our facilities
meet the challenges which we will certainly face.
Our Association has a strong firm foundation but is dependent on you. There are a lot of areas in which to serve. Contact
a board member or committee chair and get involved. I can guarantee that if you get involved it will be rewarding.
Thank you,
George Hiltner
